Denmark's Anne-Marie Rindom had a perfect second day at the European Laser Championships in Gdansk in Poland, winning both of her races to take a comfortable lead at the top of the women's laser radial standings.

The reigning European champion took advantage of her closest rivals' mistakes to ensure she sat on the best points total possible, with three points after four races.

A full four points behind is the current Olympic and world champion from The Netherlands, Marit Bouwmeester, who ended her run of three consecutive podium finishes after ending race four in seventh - a result currently discarded.

Bouwmeester is one point ahead of Poland's Agata Barwińska, who recovered from a mixed first day to place third and fourth in her two races.

Maxime Jonker of The Netherlands, who won her fleet's race in round four and game sixth in the other race today, sits on 10 points in fourth ahead of Switzerland's Maud Jayet in fifth, who also has 10 points..

Norway's Line Flem Høst dropped from third to seventh after a disappointing day two - her best performance being a seventh-place finish in race three.

The only other winner on the day was Tuula Tenkanen of Finland, who rose from obscurity in the standings to move up to 26th overall after winning her fleet's third race.

Meanwhile in the men's laser, Britain's Lorenzo Chiavarini had a day that he will want to forget after finishing 11th and 20th in his races - undoing the fine work of his perfect day one.

His disappointing results dropped the European champion from the top of the mast to fourth place on 13 points.

Instead, yesterday's second-placed man Filip Jurišić took the top spot after two third-place finishes brought his total to seven points - two ahead of Britain's Michael Beckett in second.

Beckett had one of the best days in the field, having finished fourth before winning race four in his fleet.

A team mate is sandwiched between Beckett and Chiavarini - Elliot Hanson.

Hanson won one race today and was disqualified from another, leaving him third overall on 12 points.

Cyprus' Pavlos Kontides and Spain's Joel Rodriguez sit in fifth and sixth on the same points total as Chiavarini.

After a torrid first day, Alessio Spadoni of Italy had a perfect second, winning two races to jump up to ninth.

Finally, in the men's laser radial, Dutch sailor Paul Hameeteman also recorded a perfect day, winning both of the races in the class to leapfrog Poland's home favourite Filip Ciszkiewicz.

Both sit on five points, with Hameeteman taking the lead having won two races to Cizkiewicz's one.

The Polish sailor was right behind the new leader in both races today, finishing second.

Oskar Madonich of Ukraine is third on 15 points.

Greece's Adonis Bougiouris and Tom Higgins of Ireland in fifth are fourth and fifth in turn, each on 15 points as well.
