The International Handball Federation (IHF) is to hold a webinar series in a bid to help people understand more about wheelchair handball.

The two virtual webinars will be held this weekend with the IHF aiming to "inform, attract and motivate" the handball community about the Para-sport.

The content on Saturday (October 17) is set to focus on the history and situation globally before turning to the IHF's rules for six-a-side wheelchair handball.

According to the IHF, the session will conclude with a discussion on the "activation" of National Federations and Continental Confederations regarding wheelchair handball.

IHF's wheelchair handball working group members Jerzy Eliasz, for Europe, Flavio Melo, for South America and Central America and Minoru Kino, for Asia, are also expected to focus on their specific regions.

On Sunday (October 18), Melo is set to open the session with a presentation focused on a proposal for four-a-side rules.

Various National Federations and Para-sport bodies are then due to provide case stories on different countries.

Among those will be Pedro Segueira, vice-president of the Portuguese Handball Federation, Andras Pitz, deputy executive director of the Hungarian Handball Federation and Ivan Dragic, Croatia’s wheelchair handball team coach.

Melo is expected to present a case study on Brazil.
