The International Skating Union (ISU) has announced the schedule for the 2021 Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating circuit.

It comes after the entire 2020 season was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Competition next year is due to begin in Courchevel in France between August 18 and 21.

Edmonton in Canada is then scheduled to play host from August 25 to 28, before a competition in Kosice in Slovakia from September 1 to 4.

Russian city Krasnoyarsk, the host of the 2019 Winter Universiade, is the planned venue between September 15 and 18 before a scheduled stop in Slovenian capital Ljubljana from September 22 to 25.

Gdansk in Poland has been named as the penultimate stop between September 29 and October 2 before the planned season finale in Linz in Austria from October 6 to 9.

Only Kosice and Ljubljana have survived from the 2020 campaign which was curtailed because of the global health crisis.

Pairs skating is only planned for Edmonton, Kosice, Krasnoyarsk and Linz.

The schedule was confirmed by members of the ISU Council at their latest meeting.

To enter the Junior Grand Prix, skaters must be at least 13 but not 19 before the previous July 1.

Male pair skaters and ice dancers can be 21, however.

The circuit is seen as a pathway to the senior Grand Prix of Figure Skating tour.
