The inaugural Online South American Poomsae and Para-Poomsae Championships have been scheduled to take place on November 27 and 28.

A virtual tournament has been organised due to continuing travel restrictions put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Competition is set to be held in the infant, cadet, junior, senior and master divisions.

Participants can perform from their taekwondo school or club, or from home.

The tournament will be hosted by the Ecuadorian Taekwondo Federation and held on Zoom. 

Taekwondo news website MasTKD will also stream the tournament on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.

Online poomsae events are currently being organised in many countries, including India and Iran. 

World Taekwondo also plans to organise the first Online World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships to encourage families and athletes to stay active.
