The International Federation of Teqball (FITEQ) now has more than 80 National Federations after it accepted 10 new members this month.

National Teqball Federations in Venezuela, Iraq, Papua New Guinea, The Bahamas, Bermuda, Uruguay, Ukraine, South Africa, Thailand and South Korea have all been granted membership by the FITEQ.

It marks the latest boost for the FITEQ, which became a full member of the Global Association of International Sports Federations during the umbrella body's General Assembly yesterday.

Other recent positive developments for the sport include the Polish Federation being recognised by the Polish Olympic Committee (PKOI) and the Hungarian National Sports Authority recognising the National Federation in the country.

"Gaining official recognition from the PKOI is a landmark moment for us," said Polish Teqball Federation President Michel Listkiewicz.

"This year could not have been more challenging in terms of increasing engagement in the sport, given the restrictions with COVID-19.

"However, we have built a strong relationship with our NOC and together we have been able to introduce new people to teqball every day.

"In fact, as teqball is a social-distancing sport, it’s been a great way to keep people active during the pandemic.

"We believe that this official recognition will be a springboard for the sport’s future development and we’re excited about what’s in store."
