Russia's first success came in the 57kg where Zavur Uguev comfortably defeated Arsen Harutyunyan 10-0.

Uguev needed less than a minute to secure the technical superiority win, helped by two takedowns.

Bronze medals went to Rahman Amouzadkhalili of Iran and Andrii Yatsenko of Ukraine.

The one category of the night where gold eluded Russia was the 70kg which was won by Magomedmurad Gadzhiev of Poland.

Gadzhiev beat Haydar Yazuv of Turkey 5-0, with Yazuv defaulting by injury when he was behind on the scoreboard courtesy of two takedowns from Gadzhiev.

Bronze medals went to Arman Andreasyan of Armenia and Islambek Orozbekov of Kyrgyzstan.

Russia got back to winning ways in the 74kg category with Razambek Zhamalov defeating Frank Chamizo Marquez of Italy 4-2.

Zhamalov, a 2019 under-23 world champion, dramatically defeated his opponent, a two-time world champion with a two-point action with just two seconds left on the clock.

The bronze medallists were Fazli Eryilmaz of Turkey and Tajmuraz Salkazanov of Slovakia.

In the 92kg category Russia's dominance of the evening continued with Alikhan Zhabrailov comfortably beating Georgii Rubaev of Moldova 6-0.

2019 world bronze medallist Zhabrailov secured a comfortable win thanks to two takedowns.

Bronzes went to Erhan Yaylaci of Turkey and Samuel Scherrer of Switzerland.

Russia took gold again in the 125kg category with Shamil Sharipov beating Robert Baran of Poland 4-1.

After a tight first period, Sharipov sealed the win with a double leg and a takedown.

Bronze medals went to Aiaal Lazarev of Kyrgyzstan and Dzianis Khramiankou of Belarus.

Semi-final action also took place across five categories, confirming the line-ups for tomorrow's finals in the men's freestyle 61kg, 65kg, 79kg, 86kg and 97kg categories.

Akhmednabi Gvarzatilov of Azerbaijan will face Abasgadzhi Magomedov of Russia in the 61kg category, Vazgen Tevanyan of Armenia will take on Iszmail Muszukajev of Hungary in the 65kg category, Akhmed Usmanov of Russia will face Muhammet Kotanoglu of Turkey in the 79kg category, Zbigniew Baranowski of Poland will take on Dauren Kurugliev of Russia in the 86kg category and Abdulrashid Sadulaev of Russia will take on Aliaksandr Hushtyn of Belarus in the 97kg category.
