The Singaporean has more than two decades of experience in the design and delivery of coach education programmes both in theory and technical across different sports.

As an associate professor at the National Institute of Education Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, Koh has published more than 40 journal articles, book chapters and technical areas.

Koh has also played an integral part in the creation of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) coaching course.

As chairman of the global coach education pathway, Koh will be challenged to create a "world-class" coaching certification course that is the "benchmark for other sports federations to follow".

According to IBF, the course will help to raise the standard of coaching from grassroots to elite level as well as safeguarding the future of bowling and creating an identity.

"I am glad that IBF recognises the pivotal role coaches play in athletes' long-term development," said Koh.

"Having a universal coach education programme initiated by the IBF can ensure consistency in developing coaches systematically as well as quality assurance."

Koh is a member of the Technical Commission for FIBA as well as an Executive Board member for Asia Association of Coaching Science and the FIBA Asia Coaches Committee for the World Association of Basketball Coaches.

He is also President of ASEAN Council of Physical Education and Sport and the Editorial Board member for the International Sport Coaching Journal.
