The French star overcame Nami Nabekura of Japan in the final at the Qatari capital's Lusail Multipurpose Hall.

Sanne Vermeer of The Netherlands and Andreja Leski of Slovenia were the bronze medallists. 

The 38-year-old Agbegnenou has held the under-63kg world title since 2017, having also triumphed in 2014. 

She was also an Olympic silver medallist in the division at Rio 2016. 

Tato Grigalashvili of Georgia, the recently-crowned European champion, continued his impressive form with a win in the men's under-81kg. 

He defeated Frank de Wit of The Netherlands to triumph, while Ivaylo Ivanov of Bulgaria and Israel's Sagi Muki finished with bronze medals. 

Former men's under-73kg world champion An Chang-rim topped the podium after beating Soichi Hashimoto of Japan.

The South Korean held the world title in 2018. 

Third place went to Igor Wandtke of Germany and Khikmatillokh Turaev of Uzbekistan. 

The final gold medallist of the day was Yoko Ono of Japan in the women's under-70kg. 

She won against Russia's Madina Taimazova in the final, with Giovanna Scoccimarro of Germany and Kim Polling of The Netherlands completing the podium. 

IJF President Marius Vizer was in attendance at today's competition, having met with Qatar Olympic Committee President Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani beforehand. 

Bouts are set to continue tomorrow in the men's under-100kg and over-100kg, and women's under-78kg and over-78kg.
