Maxim Burov clinched his fourth win on the spin and third in Yaroslavl as he guided Russia to mixed team success in the International Ski Federation (FIS) Aerials World Cup.

The Russian team, which also featured Anastasiia Prytkova and Pavel Krotov, landed near-perfect jumps to secure gold with 399.01 points.

Carol Bouvard, Pirmin Werner and Noé Roth helped Switzerland clinch silver with 325.45 while Ashley Caldwell, Eric Loughran and Justin Schoenefeld combined to record 322.92 as the United States earned bronze in the first mixed team event of the season.

Burov has yet to be defeated in the aerials discipline this season and proved untouchable in the men’s individual event earlier in the day.

He finished with 125.34 to see off compatriot Stanislav Nikitin who recorded 123.93 while Lewis Irving of Canada came third with 120.36.

Lewis is only the second non-Russian to get on the podium in the first three individual men’s contests after Roth picked up bronze yesterday.

Werner came fourth ahead of Belarusians Pavel Dik, Dzmitry Mazurkevich and Makar Mitrafanau.

Krotov of Russia also claimed a top-eight finish.

There was a different winner in the women’s competition as American Megan Nick clinched victory with 89.88.

Alla Tsuper of Belarus claimed silver with 89.82 while Kaila Kuhn of the United States came third with 87.25.

Belarusian Hanna Huskova finished just outside the podium places, while American duo Caldwell and Megan Smallhouse came fifth and sixth respectively.

The FIS Aerials World Cup is due to stay in Russia with the next stage scheduled to be held in Moscow on January 23.
