Qualification for the International Ski Federation (FIS) Nordic Combined World Cup in Seefeld in Austria has been postponed until tomorrow at the midway stage.

No reason has been given by FIS for this decision, but the weather forecast in the Austrian village shows rain and snow, with the latter likely to have caused the session to be halted.

In its live feed for qualification, FIS stated that a restart tomorrow was accepted, with 40 athletes having already jumped.

Competition was suspended after Norway's Espen Bjørnstad jumped, with Japan's Ryota Yamamoto due to be the next competitor to jump.

Seefeld is set to host three days worth of competition in the World Cup from tomorrow until Sunday (January 31), with overall World Cup leader Norway's Jarl Magnus Riiber looking to win again and continue his dominant start to the season.
