Teqball was a topic of discussion during a meeting between Croatian Olympic Committee (HOO) President Zlatko Mateša and Csaba Demcsák, Hungary's Ambassador to Croatia.

Activities which can promote sporting cooperation between the two nations were discussed, the HOO reports, among them a teqball demonstration event.

Mateša proposed using Cvjetni trg, a square in capital Zagreb, for the teqball demonstration event.

János Dezső, director of the Hungarian Cultural Institute in Zagreb, and Zoltán Thuróczy, cultural attaché with an advisory role concerning sport, accompanied the Hungarian Ambassador on the visit to HOO headquarters.

Mateša, who is a former Prime Minister of Croatia, also serves on the European Olympic Committees Executive Committee.

Teqball was invented in Hungary, and the International Federation of Teqball (FITEQ) General Assembly last month approved the transfer of the governing body's official seat from Lausanne in Switzerland to Hungarian capital Budapest.

FITEQ presently lists 20 European member nations, but Croatia is not among them.

Last August, FITEQ partnered with Croatian channel Sport TV  in an attempt to boost the sport's profile in Croatia.

"Teqball is growing in popularity every day in Croatia, and star national team defender Dejan Lovren even has his own table," FITEQ general secretary Marius Vizer Jr said at the time.
