Norway’s Halvor Egner Granerud will aim to continue his stunning International Ski Federation (FIS) Ski Jumping World Cup season in Klingenthal, while Hinzenbach is due to host only the third leg of the women’s calendar.

Granerud celebrated two victories last weekend in Willingen, with success at the German resort moving him onto eight wins for the season.

He surpassed Roar Ljøkelsøy for the most men’s World Cup victories by a Norwegian in a single season, with the previous mark standing at seven.

Granerud will look for further success at the Vogtland Arena, with the German venue hosting competition on Saturday and Sunday (February 6 and 7).

Qualification is due to take place tomorrow.

Granerud is assured of remaining top of the World Cup standings regardless of results in Klingenthal.

His nearest challenger, Markus Eisenbichler of Germany, will hope to reduce the deficit, as he currently trails with 888 points to Granerud’s 1,206.

Competition had initially been scheduled to take place in Sapporo in Japan, but was moved to Germany amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The pandemic has had a significant impact on the women’s season, with just one competition held before the middle of January.

Titisee-Neustadt in Germany hosted back-to-back competitions last week as the third leg of the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup season, and Marita Kramer triumphed in both events.

The 19-year-old Austrian ski jumper boasts three wins from the opening four competitions.

Hinzenbach will host the first of three women's competitions tomorrow.

Two more normal hill events will also take place on Saturday and Sunday.
