The Women’s World Floorball Championship qualifier in Valmiera has been moved to June 15 to 19 due to the scheduling of other events in Latvia.

Originally set to be held this month, the European qualifying event was pushed back to June 1 to 5 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It will now start later in the month on request of organisers, with the BMX European Championships set to be staged in Valmiera at the beginning of June.

The Men's World Ice Hockey Championship will also now be taking place entirely in the Latvian capital of Riga from May 21 to June 6, after Belarus was removed as a co-host because of the crisis in the country.

Six teams will contest the floorball qualifier - Finland, hosts Latvia, Norway, Russia, Netherlands and Belgium.

Toronto in Canada is set to host qualifiers for the Americas from June 4 to 6, before Hachioji in Japan is due to host Asia and Oceania qualifying from June 29 to July 3.

There are also two other European qualifying events, with the Italian town of Lignano Sabbiadoro hosting a tournament from May 25 to 29 and Slovakia hosting a tournament from May 26 to 30.

The Women's World Floorball Championship is set to take place in Uppsala from November 27 to December 5.

The event was previously scheduled to be held later in the year but was moved to prevent a clash with the postponed Men’s World Floorball Championship, due to be held in Finnish capital Helsinki from December 3 to 11.

Sweden are the reigning women’s champions and will hope to retain their title on home soil.
