The Teqball Eswatini Federation has donated tables to football clubs across the country to increase the partnership between both sports.

Thirty Teq Lite tables have been distributed to Premier League and Division One sides, while two have been given to the country's national teams.

Players will now be able to use the tables during their training, with teqball helping to improve a footballer's control and technique.

It is hoped the tables will be particularly useful amid COVID-19 restrictions which mean training sessions cannot currently take place in the same way they normally do.

"Once the restrictions on sports have been lifted, and football teams can resume training, the coaches can use the teqball tables as part of their current training or as a rehabilitation for injured players," the governing body said.

The donation of the tables falls under the federation's Club Development Programme.

A key aim is for Premier League and Division One teams to register teqball sides as well, in order to boost the sport.

Previously, teams with a clubhouse were able to loan tables from the federation.

Feedback about this scheme was said to be positive, with players using the tables to keep fit during periods of lockdown.

"We hope the teams and their players will be able to utilise the Teq Lite tables in ways that improve their game, skill, technique and fitness as they will now all have access to their very own tables," the federation added.

"Even beyond the new restrictions on sports and football."
