Madagascar is hosting its first International Federation of Teqball (FITEQ) National Challenger Series event.

In total, 32 singles players will be vying to become the first Madagascan National Challenger Series champion.

There will also be 16 doubles teams and seven mixed doubles teams.

The National Challenger Series gives teqball players the opportunity to earn prize money and world ranking points.

It is also a pathway to a place at the 2021 Teqball World Championships.

Teqball matches are taking place in Hungary this weekend as well, with round three of the country's National Challenger Series scheduled.

Two-time teqball world champion Ádám Blázsovics is aiming to overcome a star-studded field in the singles contest, including doubles partner Csaba Bányik and the experienced Arpad Sipos, both of whom are ranked in the world top 10.

Blázsovics was defeated in round two by rising star Adam Bako, who will feature again in the third round.

There are 28 competitors in the singles category in total, as well as 14 doubles and 10 mixed doubles teams.

Current doubles world champions Blázsovics and Bányik are seeking their third successive National Challenger Series victory.

In the mixed doubles, Bányik and Zsanett Janicsek are considered the pair to beat.
