Russia clinched their first mixed parallel slalom team victory at an Alpine Snowboard World Cup as the season drew to a close in Berchtesgaden.

Reigning world parallel slalom champion Dmitry Loginov and Sofia Nadyrshina, who combined to win the same event at last year's World Junior Championships, edged out Switzerland's Dario Caviezel and Julie Zogg in the big final.

Loginov put the Russian team in a strong position after the opening run and Nadyrshina sealed victory by crossing ahead of Zogg.

Russia had never won a mixed parallel slalom team event at a World Cup before today's competition at the German venue.

Germany 4, comprising Stefan Baumeister and Selina Jörg, beat Austria's Andreas Prommegger and Claudia Riegler in the small final to take bronze.

The event wrapped up the 2020-2021 Alpine Snowboard World Cup campaign.

Individual action concluded yesterday, when Italy’s Aaron March and Germany’s Ramona Theresia Hofmeister clinched the respective men’s and women’s overall parallel crystal globes.
