Tokyo 2020 athletes will get another chance to impress at the second of back-to-back International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) World Cups in Salt Lake City.

Only bouldering took place at last week's World Cup at Industry SLC but speed will be contested as well this time.

Italy's reigning men's world speed champion Ludovico Fossali will be one to watch while French speed specialist Anouck Jaubert has entered the women's event.

Overall combined World Cup champions Tomoa Narasaki of Japan and Janja Garnbret of Slovenia have entered both the speed and bouldering events.

American teenager Natalia Grossman won the women's bouldering title on home soil at last week's World Cup, while Adam Ondra of the Czech Republic took the men's crown.

Speed competition is due to take place tomorrow before bouldering on Saturday (May 29) and Sunday (May 30).

The IFSC confirmed this week that one athlete had tested positive for COVID-19 before the first World Cup.

It said the governing body would work to protect the health of athletes, staff and officials.
