Top seeds Mohamed ElShorbagy and Nour El Sherbini won the men's and women's El Gouna International Squash Open titles respectively following straight-games victories in the finals.

El Sherbini, the world number one, beat Nouran Gohar 11-7, 11-8, 11-5 to win the tournament for the first time.

Victory in the all-Egyptian final at the El Gouna Conference and Culture Center also gives El Sherbini a third Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Tour win of the season, following triumphs at the Egyptian Open and Black Ball Squash Open.

"She [Gohar] is the world number two, so I always have to be ready," El Sherbini told the PSA after the victory.

"Every point she is fighting and never gives up, so I was making sure I won every point and not give up.

"I had to bring my A game and I’m glad it was working today."

At 49 minutes, the men's final was 11 longer, but the defeated Paul Coll of New Zealand won fewer points than Gohar.

ElShorbagy won the match 11-5, 11-2, 11-7, qualifying for June's PSA World Tour Finals in the process and closing the gap in the rankings to world number one and fellow Egyptian Ali Farag.

The El Gouna International was a PSA Platinum event.

The next tournament on the World Tour calendar is the World Tour Finals in Cairo, beginning on June 22.
