The United States' final group match at the Americas Olympic baseball qualifier was rained off with fewer than five innings complete, meaning there was no result.

The US had been 6-1 up against Puerto Rico when rain struck at Clover Park in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Nick Allen's grand slam in the fourth inning had given the host nation a healthy lead.

With the Americans already through to the super round and Puerto Rico unable to advance, this result would not have carried forward, so the impact of the game not being completed is minimal.

The attention will now turn to West Palm Beach, where the US are in super-round action tomorrow against Canada.

Homer Bailey is set to be the US starting pitcher, with Ryan Kellogg on the mound for Canada.

Venezuela and the Dominican Republic will meet in the first game of the super round beforehand, at the same venue.

The US and Venezuela each start the super round with one win, so are in prime position to win the tournament and qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
