World Lacrosse has announced the seedings for next year's World Lacrosse Women's World Championship, with hosts the United States set to be the top seed for the competition.

The Championship is set to be held from June 29 to July 9 next year in Towson in Maryland in the US having been postponed for a year because of the coronavirus pandemic. 

These seedings were based on the final ranking of teams at the 2017 Women's World Cup, the final placement in continental qualifying events for teams that did not compete at the 2017 Women's World Cup, as well as penalties for withdrawal from other World Lacrosse events.

Behind the US, Canada, England and Australia complete the top four seeds; while Scotland, Israel, Wales and New Zealand are ranked fifth to eighth.

Japan is in ninth, with the Czech Republic 10th and Italy 11th.

Haudenosaunee, the indigenous confederacy of the Iroquois people in North America, are ranked 12th.

Ireland, Germany, South Korea, The Netherlands, Latvia, Hong Kong, Switzerland and Mexico complete the top 20.

Finally, Sweden, China, Spain, Uganda, Puerto Rico, Norway, Jamaica, Austria, Argentina and Colombia complete seeds 21 to 30.

It will be the largest field at the a senior Women's Lacrosse World Championship conducted by World Lacrosse.

The US will look to win a fourth consecutive title, following a 10-5 victory over Canada in the final in Guildford in England in 2017.

Australia was the last nation before the US to win the Championship, back in 2005 in Annapolis in the US.
