Third place went to Hoepie, a University of Johannesburg hoopoe, which is a bird native to South Africa.

Dän and Maju were named in 2019, inspired by the Otomí language as the state of Querétaro, where the university is based, is home to numerous Hñähñü native groups that speak the language.

Maju is short for majuäni, meaning "truth", and Dän short for dänsu, "honour".
