World champion Yulia Karimova led a Russian one-two in the women's 50 metres rifle three positions event at the International Shooting Sport Federation World Cup in Osijek in Croatia.

Karimova, gold medallist in the event at the 2018 World Championships, scored 462.2 points to top the podium ahead of compatriot Yulia Zykova.

Zykova amassed 461.5 points to take the silver medal, while bronze went to Switzerland's Nina Christen on 447.8 points.

There was further success for Russia as they won the men's 50m rifle three positions team competition.

The trio of Sergey Kamenskiy, Kirill Grigorian and Vladislav Fetisov beat France's Lucas Bernard Denis Kryzs, Michael Dhalluin and Alexis Raynaud 46-44 in a closely-fought gold medal match.

The Czech Republic eased to a 46-38 win over Slovakia to clinch the bronze medal.

Double Commonwealth Games gold medallist Rahi Sarnobat of India claimed the women's 25m pistol honours on 39 targets, eight more than nearest challenger Mathilde Lamolle of France.

Russia's Vitalina Batsarashkina did enough for bronze after hitting 28 targets.

Victory for Sarnobat, 25m pistol gold medallist at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, handed her a third World Cup title.

The event at the Croatian venue is set to continue tomorrow.
