Rio 2016 silver medallist Jean Quiquampoix went one better at the International Shooting Sport Federation World Cup in Osijek in Croatia today.

The Frenchman earned the men's 25-metre rapid fire pistol title, relegating reigning Olympic champion Christian Reitz of Germany to second place.

With the scores level heading into the final series, Quiquampoix hit with all five shots for a total of 35 - and Reitz only scored four.

The Reitz total of 34 was the same as the one with which he won Olympic gold five years ago.

Fellow German Oliver Geis was third.

The women's team 50m rifle three positions title went to Russia, with Yulia Zykova, Polina Khorosheva and Yulia Karimova seeing off their Austrian counterparts in the final.

Ukraine won the bronze.

Poland earned the day's other gold medal - in the mixed team 50m rifle three positions - through Natalia Kochanska and Maciej Kovalevicz.

They beat home shooters Snjezana Pejcic and Petar Gorsa 33-19 in the final, with Yuri Shcherbatsevich and Maria Martynova of Belarus completing the podium.

Men's and women's trap finals - plus a mixed team 25m rapid fire pistol contest - headline tomorrow's schedule.
