Lee6 Jeong-eun put herself in a strong position to win her second major after a third round of 68 gave her a five-shot advantage going into the final round of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Amundi Evian Championship.

The South Korean, who yesterday shot a record equalling lowest round at a men or women’s major of 61, followed it up with a three-under-par round of 68 at Evian Resort Golf Club.

The highlight of Lee6’s round came on the 11th when she made an eagle after holing out from the fairway.

The 25-year-old also made four birdies and three bogeys in her round to move to 18 under-par, and if she completes victory tomorrow will become only the third player in LPGA Tour history to win majors as her first two titles.

In total, Noh made six birdies during her round, and is one in front of New Zealand’s Lydia Ko, who moved to 12-under-par after a round of 68 that featured no dropped shots.

One shot behind Ko in a tie for fourth place are Minjee Lee of Australia, Ayaka Furue of Japan and Pajaree Anannarukarn of Thailand at 11-under-par, with Anannarukarn slipping from a share of second place overnight after a round of 72.

Ariya Jutanugarn, who was in joint second place after round two, is now in seventh place on her own at 10-under-par, following a two-over-par round of 73.
