Ukraine continued to add to their medal tally at the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) Youth MMA World Championships on the second day of competition with five more golds in the Bulgarian capital Sofia.

The second day of the Championships covered the Youth B category - under-16 athletes.

Heorhii Hudz claimed Ukraine's first gold of the day in the boys' under-44-kilogram category, defeating Russian Halil Pirmagomedov in the final.

Ukraine's Danylo Ovcharuck and Abubakar Zaitov of Russia were the bronze medallists.

Bohdan Chornei added a second in the boys' under-48kg with a win over Mamed Abdulmezhidov of Russia, while American Omar Rodriguez Vazquez and Rostislav Ocheretnyy of Ukraine were third.

A third boys' title went to Ukraine in the under-100kg category after Vitalii Behei stopped another Russian fighter, Ruslan Ovsiannikov, in the final.

Stefan Alexandru Loboda of Romania and Russia's Nikita Iakobiuk completed the podium.

Ukraine won two golds in the girls' events - the first being in the under-52kg when Mariia Klein defeated Stefani Petrova.

Asia Girelli of Italy and Kazakhstan's Ayazhan Yergentay claimed the bronze medals.

Alisiia Stoianovska won the country's last gold in the girls' under-67kg final against Russian Elizaveta Egoshina.

Russia won five gold medals in the Youth B event - the first of these in the boys' lightest weight category - the under-40kg. 

Artur Zhalov won against Denys Bohachov of Ukraine in the final, while Bahriddin Asliddini of Tajikistan won the bronze.

Yusup Kukaev won an all-Russian boys' under-62kg final against Maxim Shirinov, while American Delton Kaufmann and Bulgarian Teodor Markov were the bronze medallists.

Tamerlan Dzaurov won the boys' under-72kg against Teodor Haneichuk of Ukraine, and Israeli athlete Yoav Kilstein and Ventsislav Mihaylov of Bulgaria completed the podium.

Darya Sidorova won the lightest girls' category - the under-40kg - with a victory over compatriot Victoria Beliakova.

Ayaulym Aubakir of Kazakhstan won the bronze medal.

Russia's final medal of the day came in the girls' under-48kg event when Alina Zaitseva won against team mate Alina Kokorina.

The United States claimed three golds too, with two in the boys' category.

Gavin Mitchell won an all-American final in the boys' under-52kg against Alexander Ramirez, while Illia Sviatun of Ukraine and Alan Sayidov of Russia won the bronzes.

James Weaver then defeated Ukraine's Dmytryi Sovenok in the boys' under-57kg final and were joined on the podium by bronze medallists Bulgaria's Vesko Mitev and Ukraine's Maksym Oliinyk.

Hannah Wagstaff was the US' only girls' gold medallist today following her victory in the under-57kg final over Anastasiia Horodivska of Ukraine.

Yelizaveta Simanenko of Kazakhstan and Alison Syron of Ireland won the bronze medals.

Finnish fighter Iida Suvanto won the girls' under-62kg gold with a win over American Julia Falcone, and Asia Martari and Suvanto's compatriot Silja Piironen were the bronze medallists.

Finally, Khurshed Qudratov of Tajikistan won the boys' under-67kg gold with a win over Vladyslav Tsuprenko of Ukraine, while Yevhenii Kabanets of Ukraine and Russian Magomed Saltakhanov took the bronzes.
