The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) 3x3 Women's Series regular season concludes in Montreal this weekend, with Spain, Germany and the United States expected to challenge for the title.

The Women's Series, which consists of six events before the eight top-ranked teams compete in the Women's Series Final in Bucharest, which is scheduled to take place later this month, comes to a close in Québec.

Spain lead the way in Montreal, having won in Mies and finished second in Voiron and Klaipeda.

The fifth-ranked player in the FIBA 3x3 rankings and Women's Series top scorer and Most Valuable Player (MVP) frontrunner Sandra Ygueravide returns to a team that will be one of the favourites to win in Canada.

Germany, recent winners in Constanta, will be hoping to follow their surprise success with another strong performance here.

They are led by Constanta MVP Sonja Greinacher, who led the tournament in scoring, player value and rebounds, and is Germany's leading scorer on the season.

Winners in Klaipeda, where they defeated Spain, the US team includes Hailey Van Lith, the FIBA 3x3 Under-18 World Cup 2019 MVP, who has not yet featured this season.

Poland, currently ranked third in the Women's Series standings, and The Netherlands, ranked first, are also set to compete in Montreal.

Hosts Canada will also take part as seventh seeds, while Austria are the eighth seeds.

Pool A consists of The Netherlands, Germany, the US and Austria, while Mongolia, Poland, Spain and Canada comprise pool B.

The pool stage takes place tomorrow, before the finals on Saturday (September 4).
