The European Sambo Federation (ESF) has moved its marquee event for cadets from The Netherlands to Cyprus for COVID-19 reasons.

The European Championships for boys and girls aged 14 to 16 will keep the same dates - December 17 to 20.

A 10-day mandatory quarantine period for arrivals from certain countries being in force in The Netherlands was cited for the ESF Executive Committee taking the decision to move the event.

The ESF did not state where in Cyprus will host the tournament, but the country has already staged two major sambo competitions this year.
