Top-three seeds Paul Coll and Tarek Momen each won through to the Qatar Classic quarter-finals in straight games a remain on course to meet in the semi-finals.

Momen will first have to get through Mostafa Asal - who beat him in the US Open final earlier this month - after Asal also reached the last eight at Doha's Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.

Egypt's Momen defeated Englishman Tom Richards 13-11, 13-11, 11-5, having come through in the clutch in both of the first two games.

Asal got past fellow Egyptian Youssef Soliman when he retired hurt in the third game.

Asal had won the first two 13-11, 11-8, and was 2-1 up in the third when Soliman succumbed to a hamstring complaint.

New Zealand's Coll defeated Frenchman Baptiste Masotti 11-9, 11-4, 11-9 to book his spot in the last eight.

Mohamed Abouelghar will be his opponent, following an 11-4, 11-3, 11-6 triumph over England's Adrian Waller.

Abouelghar is the fourth Egyptian quarter-finalist, joining Mazen Hesham who is on the other side of the draw.

Hesham, who upset top seed and compatriot Mohamed Elshorbagy in round two, faces Joel Makin from Wales in the opening quarter-final, while Peruvian Diego Elias is up against Germany's Raphael Kandra.

All four quarter-finals are due to be played tomorrow at the Professional Squash Association World Tour Platinum event.
