The International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) Women's Monobob World Series continues tomorrow and Friday (November 12) with the second leg in Lillehammer in Norway.

It will coincide with racing on the second-tier IBSF Europe Cup.

Women's monobob is a part of the Olympic programme for the first time at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics as a second bobsleigh event for women.

There are 20 quota places available, with the IBSF Women's Bobsleigh Combined Ranking List used to determine which athletes will qualify.

The top four National Olympic Committees in the rankings will be given two berths, the next six one berth and the top six individual athletes remaining will round out the 20 spots.

The rankings will take into account all monobob and two-woman bobsleigh World Series events up to January 16, including the upcoming contest in Lillehammer.

The first IBSF Monobob World Series event of the season took place in Whistler on November 7 and 8.

It was a successful time for Canada's Alysia Rissling, who claimed victory on both days in her home country.

American Brittany Reinbolt finished second in both races, while last year's winner of the inaugural IBSF Women's Monobob World Series, Nicole Vogt of the United States, could only manage fourth in the first two races.

The third Women's Monobob World Series event of the season is due to take place in Innsbruck in Austria.
