Russia, Portugal, Britain and Slovakia topped their pools in the mixed BC1/BC2 team event.

In Pool A, Russia defeated Spain 6-3 and Greece 6-2 to progress in first, while Greece thumped Spain 10-2 to make it to the quarter-finals as well.

Portugal were on a tear in their Pool B opener, thrashing Israel 19-3, before beating France 8-4.

France were second following a 6-5 victory over Israel.

Britain were convincing in Pool C with a 9-2 defeat of Czech Republic and a 7-4 win over The Netherlands.

The Dutch team are through in second after beating the Czechs 5-2.

Slovakia narrowly won Pool D after beating Ukraine on a tiebreaker following a 4-4 draw.

Earlier in the day, they also beat Croatia 10-3, while the Croatians took second with a 7-3 win over Ukraine.

Slovakia and Russia made it into the semi-finals of the mixed BC4 pairs following pool wins.

In Pool A, Slovakia won all three games, starting with a 3-1 win over Hungary, followed by a 6-1 defeat of Spain.

A 4-2 win over Croatia sealed first place.

Hungary took second in the group with a 7-4 win against Spain and 3-2 victory over Croatia.

Russia thumped Slovenia 8-1 and Germany 9-0 in Pool B, but had to win by tiebreaker against Greece following a 2-2 draw.

Germany prevailed as runners-up by beating Greece 3-2 and Slovenia 6-5.

In the smaller Pool C, Ukraine won both of their games, first beating Portugal 6-3 and then Britain 4-2.

Portugal took second in the last game by beating Britain 7-5.

Finally, Czech Republic, France, Britain and hosts Spain finished top of their respective pools in the mixed BC3 pairs.

Spain defeated regional rivals Portugal 5-3 and Russia 6-1 to top Pool D, while Russia won 6-1 over Portugal to claim second.

Both Czech Republic and Greece thumped Slovakia 8-0, with the Czechs winning the decisive game between the two by a score of 3-2 in Pool A.

In Pool B, France won 8-2 against Germany and 5-3 over Poland.

Poland handed out a 16-0 defeat to Germany to finish second.

Finally in Pool C, Britain finished first with all pairs winning one each.

Norway defeated Britain 3-2, but then went down by the same score to Sweden.

Coming down to goal difference, Britain defeated Sweden 5-1 to win the pool in front of the Norwegians.

Competition is scheduled to end tomorrow with the knockout stages of the team and pairs categories.
