No racing was possible on the opening day of the International Laser Class Association (ILCA) 6 World Championships in Oman.

Competition had been scheduled to start today following three days of practice at Al-Mussanah Sports City.

Organisers confirmed the day’s races were unable to take place, leaving sailors waiting until tomorrow to hopefully launch their campaigns.

The competition is launching the qualification campaign for the sailing at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Denmark's Olympic champion Anne-Marie Rindom is among the starters in Oman, leading the women’s event.

The Russian Yachting Federation's Daniil Krutskikh is the defending men’s champion.
