The Organising Committee has highlighted progress at the Citizen Center Metro Station.

Two wheelchair ramps have been installed at the station, as well as barrier-free elevators.

Three barrier-free restrooms are also located at the station, with organisers saying other specialised facilities will be in place to aid people with disabilities.

People will be able to reserve barrier-free services in advance by calling a service line.

The Citizen Center Metro Station is one of the key stations for the Games, with its location close to several competition venues.

Hangzhou 2022 added that the West Lake Scenic Area has designed a barrier-free tour, which will allow visitors to use boats and buses to view the landscape in the area.

Sign-language interpreters will also be used to help people with hearing impairments, organisers said.

Hangzhou city officials had reportedly identified 82,000 issues which needed to be rectified prior to next year’s Games.

It is claimed 93 per cent of the issues have been resolved to date.

Hangzhou 2022 will begin with the Asian Games from September 10 to 25 next year, where 40 sports will feature on the programme.

It will be the 19th edition of the continental event.

The fourth Asian Para Games will follow from October 9 to 15, with 22 sports featuring.

The Asian Paralympic Committee has expressed hopes the Asian Para Games will be an opportunity to boost inclusion in the continent, offering encouragement for people think differently about people with impairments.
