Egle's second run of 52.515sec was the fastest of the day and, when paired with a solid opening run of 52.693, was enough for victory in a total time of 1min 45.208sec.

Germany's world champion Julia Taubitz finished second, 0.293 behind, with her compatriot Anna Berreiter in third.

In the doubles, Austria again got the better of their German rivals.

Lorenz Koller and Thomas Steu performed excellently to claim the World Cup win, powering down in 41.911 and 41.856 for a total time of 1:23.767.

Germany, through seven-time world champions Toni Eggert and Sascha Benecken, who also own the track record, finished second in 1:23.770.

Latvia finished third in 1:23.980.
