The United States won their fourth successive World Baseball Softball Confederation Under-18 Women's Softball World Cup, with a 1-0 victory over Chinese Taipei in Lima in Peru today.

Yesterday, the US beat the same opponent in their final round-robin match, though both had already secured their place in today's final.

In a follow-up, the US maintained their perfect record at the competition, securing a 1-0 win over Chinese Taipei to claim the title.

Valerie Cagle was named the tournament Most Valuable Player. 

The pitcher tossed seven scoreless innings in the final, with 13 strikeouts and four hits allowed.

In the bronze-medal match, Mexico beat Puerto Rico 4-0.
