Kondratiuk scored 286.56, far in front of Italian Daniel Grassl on 274.48, who finished second in free skating.

The Russian's free skating score was 187.50 with Grassl on 182.73 and Latvian Deniss Vasiljevs on 181.84 - a clear distance in front of the rest of the field.

Vasiljevs' free skating mark gave him the overall bronze medal too with 272.08.

Short programme winner Andrei Mozalev of Russia was fourth and compatriot Evgeni Semenenko was fifth after being third in the first section.

Morisi Kvitelashvili of Georgia, France's Kévin Aymoz, Vladimir Litvintsev of Azerbaijan, Italy's Gabriele Frangipani and Czech Republic's Michal Březina completed the top 10.

Starting today was the ice dance, with the Russian pair of Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalapov winning the rhythm dance discipline, topping the standings prior to the free dance tomorrow.

Their score of 87.89 made them top of the 20 qualifiers for tomorrow, with compatriots Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin finishing second on 86.45.

Charlene Guignard and Marco Fabbri of Italy were third on 83.35 to take the bronze medal in front of Britain's Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson.
