German capital Berlin and Indianapolis in the United States have taken the number of confirmed host cities for this year's World Para Swimming World Series up to five, with both signing multi-year deals to host events up until the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

Berlin's Schwimm- und Sprunghalle in the Europasportpark is scheduled to stage the fourth stop on this season's World Series from March 31 until April 3.

It is billed as "one of the fastest swimming pools in the world" and "one of the most traditional Para swimming venues", having staged international competition in the sport for almost 40 years.

The pool in Berlin has staged events on the World Series since its debut in 2017, including the circuit's return in 2020 after COVID-19-enforced postponements.

The Indiana University Natatorium is set to return as a World Series host for the fifth leg of 2022 from April 7 to 9.

It is claimed o be the largest permanent swimming competition facility in the US, and last held a World Series event in 2019.

Aberdeen in Britain is due to host the opening competition of the season from February 17 until 20, with the Australian city of Melbourne staging a concurrent event from February 18 until 20.

Lignano Sabbiadoro in Italy has been confirmed as the third stop for 2022, scheduled for March 11 until 13.

All five hosts cities have signed agreements running up to Paris 2024.

The World Para Swimming Championships are also on the sport's calendar for this year in Madeira from June 12 to 18, while competition at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games is scheduled for July 29 until August 3.
