Austria triumphed on home snow in the women’s team HS90 competition, on the first day of the Ski Jumping World Cup in Hinzenbach.

The Austrian team of Chiara Kreuzer, Jacqueline Seifriedsberger, Lisa Eder and Marita Kramer, leader of the individual World Cup standings, took a comfortable victory with 819 points.

Second place went to the Russian team of Aleksandra Kustova, Irma Makhinia, Sofia Tikhonova and Irina Avvakumova with 783.9 points.

Just behind them in third place were Slovenia’s team of Ursa Bogataj, winner of the women’s normal hill individual competition at Beijing 2022, Nika Kriznar, who finished third in the same race in Beijing, Maja Vtic and Spela Rogelj.

Slovenia finished less than a point behind second place ending with a final total of 783.4 points, with a disqualification on her first jump by Rogelj proving crucial in separating the two teams.

Today’s team competition is the only one scheduled this season, with the focus set to switch to the individual events over the next two days.

Kramer was already won five individual World Cup competitions this season, but missed Beijing 2022 due to COVID-19, and will start favourite to continue home success in Hinzenbach tomorrow.
