Home favourite Jarl Magnus Riiber of Norway claimed victory in the provisional round at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Nordic Combined World Cup in Oslo.

Riiber, the overall World Cup champions for three successive seasons between 2018-2019 and 2020-2021, jumped 130 metres and collected 132.8 total points at the World Cup in Oslo. 

Estonia’s Kristjan Ilves performed the furthest jump of the day at 132 metres, but finished second with 132.6 total points, narrowly behind Riiber.

Additionally, World Cup leader Johannes Lamparter of Austria finished third with 123.5 metres and 124.8 points, while Manuel Faisst from Germany ranked fourth with 130.5 metres and 123.8 points.


Japan's Akito Watabe, who won bronzes in Beijing in the individual and team large hill competitions did not make the podium in Oslo, finishing in seventh with 118.3 points. 

Olympic champion Joergen Graabak of Norway finished in eighth with 117.8 points right behind Watabe in the rankings. 

Action is scheduled to continue with two Gundersen large hill HS134/10 kilometres World Cup events tomorrow and Sunday (March 6).
