The pair took one step closer to securing their places in the knockout rounds at the Orleans Arena in Nevada.

Defending champions Sweden beat Germany 7-2 while Scotland were 10-5 winners over Finland in the eleventh session.

In the morning matchups, the Swedes downed Czech Republic 8-4 and Scotland edged out a nervy 9-7 victory against hosts the United States.

The results mean they are now locked together in second place behind undefeated Canada who have played one game less.

In the third end of Germany’s game against Sweden, with the Swedes already ahead by 3-0, Germany’s skip Sixten Totzek played a hit, but his stone slid through the house to give up a steal of one and increase Sweden’s lead to 4-0.

The Beijing 2022 gold medallists went on to win 7-2 when they stole a single point in the seventh end.

Canada extended their record to six wins and zero losses after inflicting another defeat to Germany, this time by a score of 11-7.

The win did not come easy, however, with Totzek pushing the Germans into a 5-1 lead in the third end.

The Canadians then fought back, scoring three points in the fourth end and another three in the sixth end to take a 7-6 lead and went on to take the win.

"That felt like a morning game where we didn’t wake up for a few ends," said Canadian skip Brad Gushue.

"We were fortunate to be only down by four.

"But we kept fighting and got a couple of misses out of them.

"I’m happy with 6-0, but we need a little bit more consistency."

The round robin stage continues tomorrow with 12 fixtures scheduled across three sessions.

A top of the table clash headlines the action with Canada and Sweden set to face off in the morning.
