Norway’s Jon-Hermann Hegg won the men's 50 metres rifle three positions title at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Grand Prix in Granada.

Hegg, a Tokyo 2020 Olympian, defeated Finland’s Aleksi Leppa 16-12 in the gold medal match.

Leppa had finished top of the final stage elimination with 407.9 points, in front of Hegg, who scored 406.4, and Timothy Sherry of the United States, the 27-year-old Pan American Games champion who had topped qualifying.

Hungary’s Zsofia Csonka came out top in the women's 25m pistol medal match, totalling 20 to finish clear of South Korea’s Lana Kim on 18, with Portugal’s Joana Castelao and Csonka’s compatriot Renata Sike finishing third and fourth respectively.

In shotgun competition Jorgen Engen of Norway topped qualifying in the men’s skeet ahead of home shooter Jose Maria Mielgo Moneo and Stefan Nilsson of Sweden, all on a total of 73.

In the women’s skeet Victoria Larsson of Sweden topped the qualifying with a total of 71 from Alexandra Skeggs of Britain on 68 and Spain’s Pilar Santos-Gracia on 65.

The Grand Prix is due to conclude on Sunday (May 29).
