Vilmoš Zavarko won two gold medals at the World Singles Ninepin Bowling Championships in the Estonian town of Elva, while Luminita Viorica Dogaru posted a world record score to win the women's combination title.

Points achieved in the single classic and sprint events were added together to decide the outcome of the combination competitions.

Dogaru of Romania posted a score of 891 points at the Elva Spordihoone, 658 from the single classic and 233 from the sprint to beat the previous record set by Serbia's Jasmina Andjelkovic at the last edition of the World Championships in Cluj-Napoca by one point.

Germany's Anna Müller was second with 881, with her compatriot Jana-Sophie Bachert completing the podium on 864.

Müller was the winner of the women's single classic event, beating Hungary's Boglarka Hari 3-1 in the final.

Bachert and fellow German Yvonne Schneider were bronze medallists after losing to Müller and Hari respectively in the semi-finals.

Home favourite Heret Ots of Estonia claimed the women's sprint gold, beating Czech Republic's Hana Wiedermannová 2-0 in the final.

Bronze went to Serbia's Jasmina Anđelković and Slovenia's Eva Sajko.

In Elva, he had to settle for the single classic and combination golds.

The Serbian player beat Croatia's Alen Kujundžić 3-1 in the final.

Semi-final defeats for German pair Manuel Weiß and Florian Fritzmann forced them to settle for bronze.

The sprint event was won by Matthias Zatschkowitsch of Austria, who beat Hungary's Zsombor Zapletan 2-0.

France's Frédéric Koell and Romania's Bogdan Horatiu Dudas were bronze medallists.

Zavarko posted 948 points to claim the men's combined title, beating Christian Wilke of Germany by four points.

Fritzmann rounded off the podium on 936.

The other event held at the Championships was the mixed tandem, won by Croatia's Nataša Ravnić and Hrvoje Marinović.

They overcame Hungary's Edit Sass and Zoltán Móricz 2-0 in the final.

Venesa Bogdanović and Kujundžić doubled the Croatian presence on the podium, with Austria's Fiona Steiner and Markus Vsetecka joining them as bronze medallists.
