Frenchman Tanguy de la Forest, Spain's Ager Solabarrieta Txakartegi and Turkey's Aysel Ozgan all triumphed on the busiest day of the Para Shooting World Championships in Al Ain.

De la Forest secured his second gold medal in the Emirati city, this time in the mixed 50 metres rifle prone SH2.

His score of 250.8 saw him pip Italian Livia Cecagallina to first place.

There were 0.6 points separating the two going into the final round but a 9.9 from Cecagallina meant that he dropped too far behind to finish on 249.5.

Ukraine's Vitalii Plakushchyi made up the top three with 228.6 points after missing out on the final round by 0.7 points.

De la Forest's win added to his victory in the mixed 10m air rifle standing SH2 event earlier in the World Championships.

In the first medal contest of the day, Solabarrieta Txakartegi was victorious with a score of 245.8 in the 10m air rifle VI prone tournament.

He won comfortably ahead of Poland's Grzegorz Klos on 241.4 while Croatian Fran Skracic won bronze.

Ozgan ended up on top of the only women's final of the day as 233.1 points saw her take gold in the women's 10m air pistol SH1.

Despite the win, she was unable to break her world record of 240.0 points in the discipline set in June this year.

Iranian Nasrin Shahi Samakhoun had to settle for silver on 230.9 as a final shot of 8.9 ended any chances of her snatching victory.

Krisztina David of Hungary bagged bronze with 211.6 points after losing a shoot-off to Shahi Samakhoun.

Competition is set to continue tomorrow in the United Arab Emirates as the finals of the men's 10m air rifle standing SH1 and women's 50m rifle three positions SH1 events are scheduled to take place.
