The Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) secretary general, Nilendra Raj Shrestha, has welcomed a delegation from the Korea Table Tennis Association (KTTA) to its headquarters in Satdobato in Kathmandu.

KTTA's team in Nepal was led by Olympic gold medallist Yang Young-ja, who was victorious in the women's doubles final with partner Hyun Jung-Hwa in three games against China's Jiao Zhimin and Chen Jing at the Seoul 1988 Olympic Games.

Yang was also a team gold medallist at the 1986 Asian Games in the South Korean capital.

The NOC secretary general welcomed the guests and spoke about the possibility of an athlete exchange programme between Nepal and South Korea in the sport, aiding the development of the Nepal Table Tennis Association.
