The current leader in the men's standings jumped 140 metres to earn 150.3 points in the first half of the individual 10-kilometres large hill Gundersen.

It meant he started the cross-country segment first and despite only setting the 15th-best time, his mark of 24min 49.2sec ensured victory.

Riiber's compatriot Jens Luraas Oftebro followed up his win yesterday with a second-placed finish.

A jump total of 143.3 points made up for his 26th-place cross-country time as he finished 47.5sec off the pace.

Germany's Vinzenz Geiger rounded out the top three with a time of 25:51.9.

He was 1:02.7 shy of Riiber's time which forced him to start 1:43 after the Norwegian.

Riiber's victory was already certain when he entered the last lap because he was uncatchable in front of Oftebro.

Austria's Mario Seidl looked to be on course for the podium but was pushed out of a medal position by the chasing trio of countryman Franz-Josef Rehrl and Frenchmen Laurent Muhlethaler and Matteo Baud.

Riiber is looking for his fifth consecutive overall Nordic Combined World Cup title this season and has started well with three wins from five.

The tour is due to return from December 16 to 17 in Ramsau in Austria.
