The pool that will host the diving competition - and Paris 2024 qualifying - at the Kraków-Małopolska 2023 European Games has been officially opened.

The Polish venue will host 200 athletes next year, with the diving due to start on June 25 and last for a week.

A ceremony at the pool in Rzeszów was attended by Mariusz Zagórski, director of the European Games department at the Ministry of Sport and Tourism.

Also present was Otylia Jędrzejczak, President of the Polish Swimming Federation, who acclaimed the versatility and modernity of the facility.

At the new Rzeszów swimming pool, five towers - 1 metre, 3m, 5m, 7.5m and 10m - and two springboards at 1m and 3m are available in the jumping area.

A gym and a "dry" pool will also be available to athletes, as well as a sauna, a physiotherapy room and a conference room.

Aquatics was not contested at the Minsk 2019 European Games, having been included at Baku 2015, but has returned to the programme for next year's edition in the form of diving.
