China's Eileen Gu was the top qualifier in the women's International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) Freestyle Ski World Cup halfpipe event in Calgary, comfortably leading a field of eight in the final.

The two-time Beijing 2022 Olympic gold medallist put together the best two runs, opening with a score of 92.75.

Gu then improved on the second attempt with 96.75.

Following her was Rachael Karker, who posted the next two best runs, with 89.00 in run one and 90.50 in run two.

Hanna Faulhaber of the United States was third with 85.50, while a second Chinese skier, Zhang Kexin, was fourth with 83.50.

Canadians Dillan Glennie and Amy Fraser were fifth and sixth, followed by South Korea's Kim Dae-un, the youngest finalist at the age of 17.

American Riley Jacobs completes the eight, taking the spot in front of Wu Meng of China and Jacobs' compatriot Svea Irving.

Svea's older brother Birk Irving was one of 10 qualifiers in the men's event.

While Svea just missed out, Birk took the last spot in heat one.

Finland's Jon Sallinen leads men's heat one with a score of 91.50, followed by Canadian Simon d'Artois on 89.00.

Irving was one of three Americans to join them, behind Alex Ferreira and Hunter Hess.

Canadian Brendan Mackay was the best scorer in heat two, matching Sallinen's 91.50.

Americans Aaron Blunck and David Wise followed second and third with bests of 85.50 and 84.00.

Mackay's team-mates Noah Bowman and Dylan Marineau made it through too in fourth and fifth.
