The Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) held its annual national General Assembly at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Manila.

More than 500 national instructors, heads of regional committees, members of the Philippine National Police Taekwondo and the Armed Forces of the Philippines Taekwondo attended the General Assembly, as reported by Tempo.

The PTA said its targets for 2023 were boosting its national and regional development programmes, as well as preparing squads for upcoming international competitions.

The PTA said it was also preparing to host the Asean Taekwondo Federation Taekwondo Championships, due to take place on March 11 and 12 at the Ayala Malls in Manila Bay in Paranaque City.  

Among the major international events the PTA is preparing for in 2023 are the South East Asian Games in Cambodia, the World Championships in Baku, the Asian Games in Hangzhou and the Asian Indoor Martial Arts Games in Bangkok.
