Sampaio defeated Yelyzaveta Lytvynenko of Ukraine for the title.

Kosovan Loriana Kuka, the 2019 World Championships bronze medallist, and Emma Reid of Britain settled for bronze in the category.

Ivaylo Ivanov helped Bulgaria to their only medal of the event by clinching the men's under-90kg title.

He defeated Tokyo 2020 bronze medallist Krisztián Tóth of Hungary in the final.

Tóth’s compatriot Roland Goz and Tokyo 2020 mixed team champion Axel Clerget of France won the bronze medals.

World Championships bronze medallist Ilia Sulamanidze of Georgia secured gold in the under-100kg men's class.

While he beat Arai Dota of Japan in the final, Sulamanidze’s run to the final included an impressive victory over two-time Olympic champion Lukáš Krpálek of the Czech republic.

Krpálek bagged one of the bronze medals in the category while another one went to Zsombor Veg of Hungary.
