The Congress is then due to vote on the host of the 2027 Asian Cup, where the Saudi Arabian Football Federation remains the sole bidder for the hosting rights for the 19th edition of the tournament.

It is due to be the first time that the AFC's member and regional associations will be gathering in person since the 2019 Extraordinary Congress in Paris.

A total of six FIFA Council members, five vice-presidents, and five female Executive Committee members are also set to be elected.

The Congress, which is the 33rd in history, will congratulate its member federations from Australia, Japan, and South Korea as the three nations all reached the knockout stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Lebanon's Hachem Haidar, Iranian Mehdi Taj, Dastanbek Konokbaev of Kyrgyzstan, Mongolian Ganbaatar Amgalanbaatar, Bhutan's Ugen Tsechup, and Zaw Zaw of Myanmar are due to be named as vice-presidents of the AFC at the meeting.
