Gold medallist at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics in women's wheelchair basketball, Bo Kramer, has joined the Women's Premier League for its second season, where she will play for Loughborough Lightning.

The Dutch 24-year-old, who also claimed bronze at the Rio 2016 Games, is a two-time European champion and a gold medallist from the 2018 World Championships.

"I'm really excited to be here at Loughborough," said Kramer.

"I chose to play for Loughborough as I heard about the Women's Premier League and messaged the coach.

"He told me all about the professional setting here.

"I knew this would be a surrounding where I could be a good athlete and get even better.

"It's beautiful that I can start playing in a team that won the gold medal last year and have a squad that can play basketball.

"That's a great base to build on."

Kramer joined Loughborough before the season-opening match against Worcester Wolves, but did not play in her side's 67-33 victory.

This extends the team's winning streak to nine matches - going back to the first-ever round of the Women's Premier League last year, when it was inaugurated.
